The Prophesied Imam Mahdi

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has prophesied about several events that will occur just before the advent of the day of judgment. Among these, Rasulullah (SAW) has foretold the advent of one of his descendants, Al Mahdi (the guided one), which will materialize when the believers are severely oppressed in every corner of the world. He will fight the oppressors, unite the Muslims, bring peace and justice to the world, rule over the Arabs, and lead a prayer in Mekkah at which Isa (pbuh) (Jesus) will be present.

As Muslims, we should remember that the prophecy about Mahdi is one that will come to pass. This prophecy, however, does not absolve the Muslim ummah from its duty to strive in the cause of Allah(SWT), oppose injustice, and seek peace and betterment of human condition. Centuries have passes from the time of the holy Prophet(SAW) and there is a good possibility that many more will expire before the advent of Al Mahdi. Muslims who are negligent in their duty hoping for a savior are committing a grave mistake and are not following the divine decrees ordained in Quran or taught by Rasulullah (SAW).

Throughtout the history of Islam, a few individuals - driven either by the desperate state of Muslims in their community or a selfish pursuit of power and prestige - laid claim to being Mahdi and found a following among the uninformed masses who were looking for salvation from the heavens. For some of these individuals the claim to being Mahdi was just a stepping stone to the development of heretic sects which broke away from the fold of Islam. Thus, it is at least prudent to visit the facts of this prophecy and avoid falling pray to false claimants that will appear from time to time.

The End Of Time

The end of time, the final day, or Doomsday usually refer to eschatological writings in the three Abraham's religions : Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The end of time is often described as a period characterized by the distress that precedes the second coming of the Messiah that was prophesied. Messiah is the figure who will usher the coming of the Kingdom of God and end the suffering and evil. However, detailed descriptions of these events depends on the beliefs each of which is studied.

A number of religions and traditions have beliefs about the end times, which produces various belief systems, traditions, and behaviors.

Yaum al-Qiyamah (Arabic: يوم القيامة) is a day late for all God's creatures. Islam gives clear guidance to his followers about the end times. There are various signs (to 100) contained in the Quran and Sunnah concerning the coming of the End Times. These signs can be divided into two parts, a large (Kubra) and small (Sughra). Large signs include the arrival of the Antichrist, Imam Mahdi and then Prophet Jesus (which would unite all the forces of good against evil), he blew the trumpet and small signs that will precede it.

Islamic eschatology associated with the Qiyamah (Judgement), the end of the world, and the final judgments of mankind. Eschatology is one of the six pillars of Faith (Aqeedah) in Islam. The scholars divide into two parts, namely Judgement:

Judgement Shugra (small), namely the death of every human being and can also be of natural disasters;

Judgement Kubra (total), which was destroyed and an end to all physical and legal world of mortals.

Before The Day Of Judgement

The Prophet SAW said, "When it was near the end of the world, trade will grow rapidly, to the extent that the wife will help her husband in matters of trade; bonding relationship has been decided; a pen had been dispersed; arise false testimony and withheld evidence that right."

"It would be up to man a time, where the learned man is no longer followed; lost a sense of shame in front of puberty; parents are no longer respected; child no longer cherished; humans kill each other because of mutual interests of the world, their hearts are like minded people 'Ajam (other than Arabic), while the tongue they speak Arabic; the people no longer call to virtue and prohibit munkar; godly men among them are forced to hide himself. And later on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not notice them. "

"It will not appear until doomsday book of Allah and Islam became an odium is a strange thing; envy arose among the people; Science will be withdrawn; time has ripen; age of diminishing returns; of crops and fruits was also reduced; those liar was trusted and honest people suspected; justified rampant killings'; the palaces built for the glory, splendor; the women who have children grieve (due iniquity of their children), and therefore the barren woman will be happy; appear adultery, jealousy, stingy; many people are extinct; rampant lies, the less honesty; the human condition has a wide variety and they follow their desires; presumptive sentence only; frequent rains, but harvest little; science (the nature of Islam) is getting more and more reduced and ignorance; the children become grumpy; winter turned into a very hot; the people spoke with a lie, so they provide a fitting is the right of me (obedience) to the person The bad guys of my people. If anyone trust their words and enjoy it, he will never smell the scent of heaven. " (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

Al Masih Ad Dajjal

Dajjāl is a common Arabic word (دجال) with the meaning "deceiving" or "impostor" Al-Masīḥ ad-Dajjāl, refers to "the deceiving Messiah", a specific end-of times deceiver.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said. "While I was sleeping, I saw myself (in a dream) performing Tawaf around the Ka'ba. Behold, I saw a reddish-white man with lank hair, and water was dropping from his head. I asked, "Who is this?' They replied, 'The son of Mary.' Then I turned my face to see another man with a huge body, red complexion and curly hair and blind in one eye. His eye looked like a protruding out grape. They said (to me), He is Ad-Dajjal." The Prophet added, "The man he resembled most is Ibn Qatan, a man from the tribe of Khuza'a."

Narrated Ibn Umar: Once Allah's Apostle stood amongst the people, glorified and praised Allah as He deserved. Then, mentioning Dajjal, he said, "I warn you against him (i.e. the Dajjal) and there was no prophet but warned his nation against him. No doubt, Noah warned his nation against him but I tell you about him something of which no prophet told his nation before me. You should know that he is one-eyed, and Allah is not one-eyed."

Every Messenger of God did warn his nation about the trials of Dajjal. God, however, delayed Dajjal’s birth and did not let him appear until now. Be aware! He will claim to be God and try to create doubts in your minds. Have a firm belief, the one-eyed creature cannot be your Lord. He will claim to have come with the gifts of paradise and arsenal of hell

Ali was reported to have said:

His right eye will be punctured, and his left eye would be raised to his forehead and will be sparkling like a star. Only the believers will be able to read the word ‘Kufr’ [disbelief], inscribed in bold letters, on his forehead. There will be big mountains of smoke at both front and backsides of his caravan. People will anticipate food within those mountains, during the severe famine.All rivers, falling in his way, will become dry and he will call upon people in aloud voice, "O my friends come to me! I am your lord who has made your limbs and given you sustenance.

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger said: There is never a prophet who has not warned the Ummah of that one-eyed liar; behold he is one-eyed and your Lord is not one-eyed. On his forehead are the letters k. f. r. (Kafir)

While shia believe that Dajjal will be killed by Muhammad al-Mahdi, sunni said that that Isa who will kill Al Masih al Dajjal.

Hadith attributed to Muhammad give many signs of the appearance of the Dajjal, and exhorted his followers to recite the first and last ten verses of Sura Al-Kahf, as protection from the trials and mischief of the Dajjal. Some people said that The Dajjal will appear somewhere between Syria and Iraq and will travel the whole world preaching his falsehood, but will be unable to enter Mecca or Medina. Isa (Jesus) will return and the Dajjal will gather an army of those he has deceived and lead them in a war against Jesus, who shall be accompanied by an army of the righteous.

The following signs are ascribed to the coming of Dajjal :

People will stop offering the prayers
Dishonesty will be the way of life
Falsehood will become a virtue
People will mortgage their faith for worldly gains
Usury and bribery will become legitimate
Imbeciles would rule over the wise
Blood of innocents would be shed
Pride will be taken on acts of oppression
The rulers will be corrupt
The scholars will be hypocrites
Adultery will be rampant
The liars and treacherous will be respected
There will be acute famine at the time
There will be no shame amongst people
Children would challenge their mothers
Youngsters would perform marital relationship with their parents
Many people would worship Satan
There would be no respect for elder people

The Last Golden Age

Prophet Muhammad described the before the End Times there will be a golden age with the properties of heavenly. Many hadiths indicate the existence of a period when the values ​​of the Qur'an will cover the earth. During this period, my people will lead a peaceful and comfortable life, who had never known before. (This land) will issue the harvest and will not take it back (Reported by Ibn Majah)

Inhabitants of the heavens and the earth will be satisfied with his government and such plants will be grown by the earth, so that life would want to be the dead can come back is turned (At Tabrani and Abu Nu'aym)

This land will come back as a gold tray growing vegetation (Ibn Majah)

Advances in technology will provide an abundance of material in the Golden Age, Humans will reap 700 doses of wheat for every time they sow. Humans will spread a few handfuls of seeds and reap 700 grip (the harvest) Although a lot of rain fell, none would be wasted.

Cost of living is high and poverty will end Since the Golden Age will be a time of prosperity and abundant wealth, all people will receive more than they asked for. Nothing will be measured or counted. Prophet Muhammad said that his people will live in a blessing, especially during the Final Days:

A time will come when a man with a fortune of gold in his hand running and never found anyone who's willing to accept alms (Mukhtasar Tazkirah Qurtubi)

Then my people will be blessed, the number of animals will increase and the soil, will produce a variety of fruits Sure, property will be abundant, flowing like water. But no one would bend down to pick it up. (Mukhtasar Tazkirah Qurtubi)

War And Disaster

Major cities will be destroyed and this will happen as if the cities had never existed before. (Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi al-Mahdi Address End of al-Zaman)

Destruction of the cities referred to in this hadeeth is reminiscent of the destruction that is now emerging because of wars and natural disasters. Recently, nuclear weapons, fighter planes, bombs, missiles and other sophisticated modern weapons has led to the destruction that has never imagined before. A variety of these terrible weapons has led to the destruction that has never been seen before. Obviously, the big cities that were targeted are most affected by this devastation. Destruction since World War II that has not by any means is one such example. With the use of atomic bombs on the world's greatest war, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were completely destroyed. The signs of The Judgement Day in the Qur'an

Al-Imam Al-Mehdi The coming of Imam Mahdi ( Muntazar / "The Guided one" ) is one of the signs of Qiyamah as is the belief of the Ahlus-Sunnah. He will receive Knowledge from Allah.

The Prophet (PBUH and HF) said: "Even if the entire duration of the world's existence has already been exhausted and only one day is left (before the day of judgment), Allah will expand that day to such a length of time, as to accommodate the kingdom of a person from my Ahlul-Bayt who will be called by my name. He will fill out the earth with peace and justice as it will have been full of injustice and tyranny (by then)."

It has been said: Messenger of Allah, "Al-Mahdi from my people, had a broad forehead, long nose and sharp. He will fill the earth with justice and prosperity, as it (the earth) before it is filled with injustice and tyranny, and he (the age of the caliphate) was seven years old. "(Narrated by Abu Dawood and al-Hakim)

It has been said: Messenger of Allah, "Al-Mahdi from my people, from the descendants of my descendants." (Narrated by Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah, and al-Hakim).

We also must be vigilant. because, the Jews will always look for the descendants of The Prophet. They have tried to eliminate the descendants of The Prophet found in other countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan. How is the shoreline land Melayu and Indonesia now? Is there some day we will be the same shoreline as experienced by Afghanistan?

THE MAHDI APPEARS

Some important explanations about the End Times are as follows: During the terrible chaos in the hereafter, Allah will command a servant who has a noble spirit, known as Al-Mahdi (giving clues to the truth), to bring humanity back to the right path . Shia and Sunni hadith about Imam Mehdi

There is no confusion or difference of opinion among the Muslim scholars about the arrival of Imam Mehdi (as) before the Doomsday. In a hadith, unanimously accepted by all Muslims as an authentic one, the Holy Prophet (sws) stressed that Imam Mehdi (as) will certainly come before the commencement of the Doomsday, as the holy prophet says

Difference of opinion between Shia and Sunni about the appearance of Imam Mehdi (as)

Both Shia and Sunni are united in their basic belief that Imam Mahdi(as) will certainly rule the whole world before the occurrence of the Doomsday. But, there is a strong controversy among Muslims on the issue of occultation (Ghaibat).

Sunni scholars believe that Imam Mehdi (as) will be born anytime before the day of Qiyamat and will rule the world. Whereas, all Shia scholars have a strong belief based on Quran and hadith that Imam Mehdi (as) was born in 255 AH, and is still living in concealment as the Imam of his time, and will reappear by the order of Allah the almighty at His appointed time.

He has a title Imam ul-Asr, meaning the Imam of the period.

No one, except Allah the almighty, knows the mahdi. Even the Imam himself does not know about the time when his occultation will be over. However, there are some reliable narration and reasonably trustworthy clues to form a hypothetical opinion about his station.

Characteristic Feature Of Mahdi

It was narrated from Abu ath-Thufail that Prophet. says, " It is difficult to speak, and hit his left thigh with his right hand when he had difficulty speaking." Secrets contained in a blow to the thigh that is the condition of (things) that Allah granted, that with it He gave inspiration to the Imam Mahdi repeatedly and succession. Imam Mahdi understand it as a kindness to him when he wanted to speak fluently and not afraid either, and it is a glory to him .

His skills and leadership as it has never been known to mankind than among Muslims. All leaders are liars, destroyers, corrupt, and perverted. where Imam Mahdi is the Islamic example has given to mankind in a new form, after they lose a model like that for centuries. According to some hadith there are some signs about The Arrivals of Imam Mahdi / Mahdi, The Messiahs

The scholars divide the Signs of the End Times into two. There are small signs and no signs of the End Times. Small signs of vast quantities coming first. Al-Mahdi is "the rightly-guided one" who, according to Islamic Hadiths (traditions), will come before the end of time to make the entire world Muslim. In Sunni and Shia eschatology, the Mahdi ( مهدي‎ / Guided One) is the prophesied redeemer of Islam who will stay on Earth for seven, nine or nineteen years (according to various interpretations) before the Day of Judgment (yawm al-qiyamah / literally, the Day of Resurrection) and, alongside Jesus, will rid the world of wrongdoing, injustice and tyranny.

In Shia Islam, the belief in the Mahdi is a "powerful and central religious idea" a 10th generation grandson of prophet Mohammed and closely related as the Twelfth Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi, whose return from occultation is deemed analogous with the coming of the Mahdi.

He will have divine men upholding his call (to the true Religion) and aiding him in his victory; they are the Helpers (wuzara'). They will bear the burdens of (his) government and help him to carry out all the details of (the duty) God has imposed on him.

He will manifest Religion as it (really) is in Itself, the Religion by which the Messenger of God would judge and rule if he were there. He will eliminate the different schools (of religious law) so that only the Pure Religion  remains, and his enemies will be those who follow blindly the 'ulama', the people of ijtihad,because they will see the Mahdi judging differently from the way followed by their imams. 

So they will only accept the Mahdi's authority grudgingly and against their will, because of their fear of his sword and his strength and because they covet (the power and wealth) that he possesses. But the common people of the Muslims and the greater part of the elite among them will rejoice in him, while the true Knowers of God among the People of the spiritual Realities will pledge allegiance to him because of God's directly informing them (of the Mahdi's true nature and mission), through (inner) unveiling and immediate witnessing.

Leadership of Imam Mahdi

This Muslim groups are an elite group of Muslims. They are a small group of 'fundamentalist Islam', in the middle group of Muslims who had begun to neglect of the obligation of sticking with the Qur'an and Sunnah. They are the 'Muslim-Muslim militants who greatly feared by the U.S. and the West would threaten their interests. The Prophet named this group as an "ath-thaifah al-manshurah", a group that get the victory. This naming is a promise of victory for this group, both in rapid and slow, both material and spiritual victory.

Imam Mahdi is actually a nickname as well as the title of caliph, Commander of the Faithful, and so on. Imam Mahdi can be freely interpreted to mean "leader who has given a clue". In Arabic, the word Imam means "leader", while the Mahdi means "rightly guided".

The name of Imam Mahdi is actually as mentioned in the above hadith, he named Mohammad (such as name of Prophet Muhammad), his father's name was the same as the Prophet Muhammad's father's name is Abdullah. Imam Mahdi name exactly as the Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah.

In the above mentioned hadith of Imam Mahdi will lead for 7 or 8 or 9 years old. During his leadership of Imam Mahdi will lead Muslims to fight against tyranny, until one after another defeat tyranny will fall under its power.
